Underground Mine Maps

Scanned and georeferenced underground mine engineering drawings are available for download from the Kentucky Mine Mapping Information System Web site at http://www.minemaps.ky.gov.

On March 25, 2003, Kentucky Governor Paul Patton signed into law Senate Bill 165 eliminating restrictions on the release of underground mine maps submitted to the Kentucky Department of Revenue and the Office of Mine Safety and Licensing. The Division of Mine Permits, in cooperation with these and other state and federal agencies, is participating in the development of a Web-based interactive graphical map service that allows users to view and download underground mine maps and associated coal mine data.

Underground mine maps available from the Kentucky Mine Mapping Information System Web site are identified by the Office of Mine Safety and Licensing state file number. To locate an engineering drawing by the Division of Mine Permits permit number, click on the link below to view or download a list of permit numbers and corresponding state file numbers. This list may not be complete.
